Does your computer run slow, display repeated error messages, fail to shut down, or restart with no reason?

These can be signs of a malware infection. If you suspect that your computer is infected, here's what you can do:

1. If you have another security solution installed, you can double-check how safe your computer is by running the Quick Scan tool or the BitDefender Online Scanner. BitDefender Quick Scan is a 60-second security check that will tell you if there is any active malware running on your system.  BitDefender Online Scanner will perform a more thorough check on your system, for both active and inactive malware, and it will help you remove any detected threat. Once your system is clean, we strongly recommend that you install and use a complete and reliable security solution.

2. If you do not have another security solution installed on your system, we strongly recommend that you install a complete and reliable security solution.

3. During installation, BitDefender will run a quick security scan to detect any malware existing on your computer. It is highly recommended to allow BitDefender to perform this operation. The scan results will be displayed at the end. If no security threats were detected on your computer, you can click Next to continue. If active malware was found, BitDefender will inform you, and it will automatically move the file to the quarantine folder. Once the active malware has been isolated from your system, the installation can proceed.
